01. What is RFS Sacco?

RFS is an acronym that stands for Reducing financial stress.

The Sacco was established in 2013 with backing of the then country director Alice Martin-Daihirou and Head of finance Evelyn Etti after realizing that staff had formed a registered savings association that was well established.

The first chairperson was Henry Paul Mugenyi (Finance officer-WFP Uganda) and Ibaale Charles was the First vice chair as well as late carol namutebi as the Treasurer and Caroline Aguti as the secretary.

RFS SACCO is a member-owned savings and credit cooperative dedicated to improving the social and economic wellbeing of its members through accessible, affordable, and responsible financial services, savings mobilization, and community empowerment.

RFS SACCO focuses on financial literacy, sustainable savings, flexible credit, and member success stories — helping individuals & families build a better future.

02. How do I become a member?

Membership is open to all eligible WFP National and International staff and their beneficiaries who share our values and vision.

Obtain and fill an application form, copy of National ID/Passport, copy of passport photo, registration fee of UGX 20,000 and a minimum share contribution of 100 shares each at UGX 10,000

04. What is the minimum share capital requirement?

The Minimum Share Contribution is 100 Shares of UGX 10,000 per share

05. How are savings interest rates calculated?

The interest rates on savings are prorated on a monthly accumulated savings basis and averaged using the current ROI as determined time to time.

06. Loan eligibility and processing time?

For one to obtain a loan; he or she should be a member of the RFS SACCO, with a minimum required shareholding of 100 shares.

One must have savings collateral equivalent to 30% of the loan amount requested.

Processing time;

We provide ourselves with a turn around time of 24 hours upon full submission of all the required documents

07. What documents are needed for a loan?

1. Application forms ( Loan application form, Loan agreement form, and Salary deduction form)
2. A copy of the current running contract
3. A copy of the most recent payslip
4. Standing order &Post dated cheques (For non payroll staff)

08. What interest rates apply?

We offer competitive rates of 10%, 11%, or 12% per annum depending on the loan product and term. Speak to our team for the exact rate for your loan.
