The RFS Welfare Fund is a social support and protection scheme established under RFS SACCO to promote unity, solidarity, and financial wellbeing among members.

The Fund exists to ensure that members and their immediate families receive timely support during times of bereavement, emergencies, hardships, and important life celebrations.
Through collective contributions, members create a reliable safety net that provides both financial and emotional support while strengthening the spirit of togetherness within the RFS family.

Who Can Become a Member?
Membership in the Welfare Fund is open to all fully registered and shareholding members of RFS SACCO. Participation in the Fund is mandatory for all SACCO members to ensure sustainability and equal access to benefits.

Members contribute:

• UGX 30,000 per month
• UGX 360,000 per year

To qualify for benefits, members must:

• Be fully paid up with their Welfare Fund contributions.
• Complete and submit their beneficiary declaration and biodata forms.

Who Is Covered?
The Welfare Fund covers the member and their declared immediate family members, including:

• Spouse or partner
• Biological or legally adopted children
• Biological parents
• Parents-in-law

Bereavement and Funeral Support
A dedicated portion of every member’s contribution is invested in funeral insurance coverage through an approved insurance provider. This arrangement ensures that members and their eligible beneficiaries receive financial support during bereavement, helping families meet funeral and related expenses during difficult times.
Family Emergency Support
The Fund provides assistance for approved emergencies affecting members and their immediate families, including:

• Medical emergencies and hospital bills
• Essential medication
• Fire and accident-related emergencies
• Other approved welfare needs

Celebration and Achievement Support
The Fund recognizes and celebrates significant milestones among members, including:

• Weddings and wedding anniversaries
• Academic and professional achievements
• Outstanding personal and community accomplishments

Family Day and Community Engagement
The Fund organizes family days, retreats, trainings, member visits, and wellness activities that strengthen relationships, promote networking, and foster a sense of belonging among members and their families.
